Waste Management Act Requirements

The Act requires that the National Waste Management Strategy address public education and awareness. The implementation programme for the National Waste Management Strategy must outline comprehensive measures for effective public education and awareness regarding solid waste management, alongside effective training programs for staff involved in solid waste management operations.

This legislative foundation ensures that public education remains a cornerstone of Saint Lucia's approach to sustainable waste management, recognizing that informed communities are essential for achieving our environmental goals.
