The facility was converted from an open dump to a waste disposal facility in 1996 and equipped with a weighbridge, MRF facility, fuel tank, electronic weighbridge and scale house and proper landfill grade equipment for waste management.

Further, the facility was converted into a waste transfer facility in 2019 to better serve the waste management needs of the southern region of Saint Lucia.
