About Collections
🚛 **Safe & Regulated Waste Collection**
Our waste collection services are overseen by the **Saint Lucia Solid Waste Management Authority (SLSWMA)**. Everything we do—from route planning to the final transport of waste—is governed by the **Waste Management Act, 2004**.
This legal framework ensures that waste is collected and transported in the safest, most efficient, and environmentally responsible way possible.
- Collection Standards: The SLSWMA establishes the necessary standards and procedures for the secure **transportation** and haulage of all types of solid waste.
- Licensing and Oversight: We strictly regulate the collection process by issuing and monitoring **Waste Haulage Licenses** to all commercial operators, guaranteeing they meet all operational and environmental requirements.
- Safety Guarantee: All waste haulage must be conducted to prevent any threat to public health or the environment, a non-negotiable requirement of the national strategy.
Our Commitment to Accountability
The regulatory framework demands accountability from every part of the collection chain:
- Emergency Preparedness: We maintain detailed contingency plans to handle disruptions like vehicle accidents or waste spillages, ensuring a rapid, effective clean-up, and quick restoration of services.
- Hauler Liability: Any licensed waste hauler is legally liable for any harm to health or the environment resulting from negligence during the transport of waste. Haulers must immediately clean up any spillage and ensure the waste reaches an approved facility.
